Ahhh... Venezuela. Just saying the name ‘‘Venezuela’‘ makes one feel adventurous, mysterious. Splendid, almost. Instead of just saying the name why not visit the country to experience these feelings firsthand. Why not visit the country that boasts the world’‘s highest waterfall, South America’‘s largest lake, miles of shorelines of pristine beaches, and exotic rainforests below table top mountains? It sounds like a place of make-believe, created solely for adventure movies and epic literature. But it’‘s all real and just waiting for you to visit. Even if you would prefer the peaceful countryside then you are in luck! Venezuela seems to have it all!
If planning to vacation in Venezuela then be sure to book early. Travel season is year-round due to the pleasant climate in dry-season (late November to May) and some sights being more spectacular (such as Angel Falls) in the wet season. Venezuelans enjoy traveling just as much as you do and they do travel in their own country quite frequently, so competition for rooms and transportation services may be greater during certain holidays.
Once you’‘re on vacation in Venezuela, the possibilities of sights and activities are endless. Of course you want to see the world’‘s highest waterfall. The wet season is an ideal time to see Angel Falls at their strongest, and boats may not be accessible to the falls in the dry season. Hiking around Venezuela would be easier in the dry months, particularly if you are in the snow-capped Andes. If you only plan on hiking, or strolling, through Venezuela’‘s bolstering urban jungles, such as the city of Caracas, the capital, then the rain should not be a problem. Places to consider on your Venezuelan vacation are: rainforests in Amazonas, mountains in the Gran Sabana state, the wildlife of Cainama National Park and Los Llanos, and the pristine, translucent beaches of Los Roques.
When traveling to Venezuela, keep in mind that the official language is Spanish and the official currency is bolivar. The unofficial drink is a beer brand called "Polar", or the Venezuelan rum is known to be wonderful as well. For something nonalcoholic try the "chicha Andine" or the coffee for a bit of refueling. And always be sure to pay attention to your surroundings at all times, no matter where you are in the world.
