Beginning with Nashville, the capital of Tennessee, and the country music capital of the world, a traveler will find plenty to do once inside Tennessee’‘s beautiful state lines. In Nashville, commonly referred to as Nashvegas, there are plenty of things, and people, to see: professional and college sports, breathtaking country landscapes surrounding a historical city and perhaps Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, or any number of country singers dining in one of the exquisite restaurants Nashville has to offer.
Travel to Chattanooga and ride the Choo-Choo or see the Aquarium. Drive to Memphis and hear some blues after you visit Graceland. Or seclude yourself in a cabin at the Gateway of the Smokies in Gatlinburg. Hike, kayak, shop, eat barbecue, and maybe get some autographs- that sounds like a wonderful vacation, doesn’‘t it?
Tennessee is enjoyable year-round, with some snow in the winter around the Smokies (and sometimes even Nashville) and hot, dry summers. Fall offers a spectacular array of leaf colors.
